Bird that sings at night
Ruby red
As this as blood
An evil owl
Flees from our son.

The darkest blue jewel
and a bleached bone rib
Ring
In(g) a shadowy corner
shaken by the rumble
of
rolling thunder;
wetness hits dust
and it explodes.

Ice hits cheek
The prickling pain
makes a crystalline sound
delicate weeps on my skin
I am flushed
and aroused

Later I hear
A dusty creak of wood
and distant horn
The cacophony of locusts
The crash of antlers
and the sore impressions of grains and stone
in my damp skin
Crawling through the gate
to you.th
